draw length

i own a 2005 mathews switchback, and i need to increase the draw length... i was wondering what the best way to do this. I know i can buy a new cam but is that the only way? If i did buy a new cam how easy would that be and how much would it cost? Thanks

RE: draw length

It depends on how much change you need and weather you are shortening it or lengthening it. You can sqeeze out about a half inch by twisting the string but I dont like going more than abouta 1/4 either way. To get a new cam you would have to have a bowpress or take it to a pro shop. Its pretty simple but if your a begginer I would just take it to a pro shop and let them do it. It probably would cost about 75 bucks for the cam and work, thats just a guess though.

If it was me and I wanted to use the bow for the rest of the season...

If you are using a d-loop then just tie another d-loop in but make sure the string for the loop is a little bit longer than the string that is on there now. It is not very difficult to do and you could buy the string at most local shops. or have a local shop do it for a few dollars.

Just make sure you put it on there where the other one comes off and your sights should still be on.
