Fly by night? Not hardly! Trophy Ridge will be around for awhile. They make some excellent sights!

Just don' t get too rough with them unless you want to be replacing plastic pins all the time.

I just put on my Mathews and am really happy with it. It pins show up good on a bright day and even better at night. I have budy that shoots with almost every weekend know and he is saving up to bye one.

I can' t tell you yet, but, when ever I get mine, I will let you know.

Seriously though, they have a great design and look awsome. I really like having an open sight window, and, the no tools required is really nice.

I bought the nitro extreme 3pin last yr for my new bow. The vertical pins seemed to be natural to me. First thing I noticed right off was how easy the design was to put on my bow, and adjust for sighting in. My sight picture is good, and I really liked using the vertical alignment of pins. I set them at 20-30-and 40 for summer 3D' s.
On the down side the pins are little fragile. I broke one playing around with it soon after I bought it. I epoxy' d the pin, and used it the rest of last summer. My other complaint was they use 2 pins of 1 color. I had 2 yellow' s, and a green. Before hunting season came I contacted Trophy Ridge, and ordered replacement pins. They were very helpful, and I had my new pins within 7days, replacing them is fairly easy. They come with good directions. I changed the broken one to a red, so have all 3 colors now. Just the way I like!!!

If you tend to be rough with your equipment they make the all metal sight also!

About the only real practical complaint I have heard about them is that since the pins are in the same vertical plane it is much more difficult to gap shoot with them. I somewhat agree with this as it would explain some of the problems I had while using mine out on the 3D range this year.

I do like the ease of use which the site offers. Not having to carry around a set of allen wrenches sure is convenient. I have only had time to play around with the Flatliner model. I am unsure if the other models allow you to mount the sight closer to the riser but this is something that I think might be offered as an option.

I think it' s 100% dependent on the bow you put it on AND the type of shooting you do.

My first TR was the flatliner Xtreme. The ' thumbscrews' NEVER got tight enough to hold the dovetails from sliding while shooting. Eventually the plastic knobs broke & I put a wrench to it - it just didn' t get tight enough.

TR customer service was awesome - to the point that they sent me a replacement sight free of charge because of the problems I was having - they were great!!!

The 2nd sight was a Nitro - different sight, same problem. Off came the thumbscrews and on & went standard hex bolts - problem solved - I was able to tighten them up enough to keep it from sliding.

Then came Turkey season. I hunt turkeys exclusively with a bow and a DoubleBull ICE blind. Although these pins looked GREAT during the daylight and jsut AWESOME in the sun, when sitting in a blind where it is almost pitch black, and holding the bow out to the window where it is light, the 2nd & subsequent pins dissappeared. I had birds fly down on me but couldn' t see past a 20 yard pin - I.E. I couldn' t gap anything because of the vertical alignment - I couldn' t ' see' the 30/40/50 yard pins until it got lighter outside. Glow sticks or not - same results...

So, off came the TR - destined for the bottom of the tackle box. I actually gave a kid the 2nd one (since I didn' t pay for it I thought it only right to give it to a kid who would REALLY appreciate it) and sold the 1st for $50.

Now - as I said - this is my experience & as you can read from previous posts is quite different from others - Customer Service was top notch - the sight just didn' t like my bow. I never broke a pin btw but have heard of it happening by a lot of folks on this site.

I am not a big fan of that sight. It looks good and adjust easily but I had two pins break and I don' t need that. I went to the Copperjohn Deadnuts without any problems..........So Far!......Hopefully there willl be none..........

I was going to buy a Trophy Ridge because I liked everything about it,except, the negative feedback. I am ordering a Copper John today because I have seen no negative feedback. Maybe in a couple of more years I will again take a look at a Trophy Ridge. Just my opinion. Good luck...

We stopped selling them in dealers store that I shoot for because of to many getting broke. I would look at Copper johns products. Tough and fairly priced also.

I have never had the first problem with my flatliner extreme. I have put it through quite a bit of abuse and only had the mounting bolts loosen a little after some hard vibration on a 4 wheeler.

RE: trophy ridge sights are they good or not

I' ve had the Nitro Extreme 5 pin for almost a year now. Like the sight view, like the company and their support but the sight bracket design is flawed. This is only on the Nitro, but the windage bar is of a hexagonal design and fits through a machined hexagonal opening in the main sight bracket. These two dont play well with eachother. My sight kept moving after about 15-20 shots so I called TR. The immediately sent me another windage bar but it didnt help. I called them again and suggested they get rid of this design and stick with the dove tail type joints such as on the Matrix. They agreed to convert my bracket to dove tail if I' d send it to them and I did. Havent gotten it back yet but I think this will fix it. If it' s good to go, I' ll keep this sight on my bow for some time, I did a review on it a while back.

I just got the Micro Matrix 5-pin with the new metal .019" pins. I couldn' t be happier with it. I sighted in all the way to 60 yds with it and I' m shooting better than I ever have before. I thought the vertical pins in the .029" size covered too much of the target at longer distances, but the .019" pins don' t and are metal now so they' re much tougher. I used the big wing nuts to sight in originally and then replaced them with the allen head screws to really lock it down. I' ve heard that wing nuts aren' t as secure and I don' t like having them out in the way anyway. I am very happy with it so far.
