Insert super glued into a carbon shaft. How do you get it out? Or can you?

I have done it, I put a field point halfway in and heat the point till it will allow me to pull the insert out with a pair of pliers....Just dont over heat and always check your arrow afterwards.

You can also buy an insert tool. Looks like a screwdriver and threads into the insert. I screw it in all the way and heat to tool a couple of inches below the insert enough to warm the glue and pull out the insert. Make sure that you aren't in a room with a smoke detector, I woke my wife up one night doing that[:@]

Get a piece ofbrass rod about 3" long (or a 7/32" drill bit) that will fit inside the shaft, remove the nock, place the rod in the shaft, cover the open end of the arrow, point the arrow towards the ceiling and with a whipping motion sling the arrow down towards the floor. Keep doing this till the insert comes out. It helps if you sling it towards a box or something to catch the insert, otherswise you'll spend the rest of the afternoon looking for your insert and rod.

Used the TexasBowHunter method, worked great. I just didn't know super glue would melt. Acetone (nail polish remover) will get the glue off once it is out of the shaft.

I have used the heatin method a few times. But be warned, no matter what, you did weaken that shaft. I have had them break right at the tip after doing this.

I never worried too much about it critr because its at teh end. I would worry if I weakened it at the middle. Just for safety reasons.

I have tried the drill bit hammering method. I only tried it on two different brandarrows. It worked great on one of my arrows, but didn't work at all on the other one. The insert wouldn't budge at all on the second arrow. So I guess it might depend on the glue that is used. It worked great on the one arrow. I didn't see any damage or residual glue at all on the arrow. I would try this method first on one of your arrows and see if it works before heating the shaft.
