Warning! Do not put bow in press??????? HCA TSSR

I was planning on buying a press when I noticed the sticker on my bow that says that the bow should not be put in a bow press because it may damage or break the arms. What in the world is that all about??? It is on my High Country Archery TSSR. I need to replace the string but now I dont know what to do. My thoughts are that the sticker is just so if anything happens to the bow while in the press, you cant sue them. anyone have any thoughts? Any one have this bow?
I am also trying to figure out how high to mount my QAD rest. dont have any experience but I dont ever plan on going to a bow shop again except to buy arrows... maybe.

Are you sure you even need to put your bow in a press/vice, some new bows are pressless and dont need them to change the string and do some work, id take it in though to make sure!

Sounds like you're screwed brother! You either have to take it to a shop, or latch on to a mentor who can teach you how to roll your own.

How far away from the tidewater area of VA are you? I can show you the ropes and heck I'll teach you about anything you want to know (within my knowledge, which is enough to keep you running but pales in comparison to a lot of the guys on here).

As to the High Country... I have an Iron Mace.... what that sticker means is that "YOU" shouldn't press the bow... you should have a dealer/pro do it for you. Some of those carbon risers can get busted up if not pressed correctly. You can press it just like any other bow... I don't know right offhand of any company that will honor any sort of warranty from damage inflicted by a press (because pressing a bow is not a big deal... so long as it is done correctly). Pro shops have insurance for those reasons. Its really just a warning type label that is meant to scare off any would be shade tree bow techs from trying to separate their strings to install a peep with a pocket knife (you'd be shocked....)....
