What paint to use, for cresting arrows?

What paint do you guys use for cresting arrows? Will any kind of paint work?

I use masking tape and "GOOD" spray paint. (I happen to use Rustoleum brand)

Spray paint is great for fades...but useless for the intricate striping.

If you do spray paint, get a can of clear lacquer. Once you're done lacquer what you've painted plus an inch or so. You can either mask it off or 'free-hand' another fade. (what I do)

Don't forget to clean the shafts really good.

And you'll have to strip and recrest anytime you work on fletching. This is the major benefit to wraps. Easy to get off. Easy to put on...but compared to paint they are HEAVY!!!!!

Youtube's got a few clips and one guys averaged 1.0gr for the entire crest!!!
