A favor to ask...

My personal computer has crashed and I've lost both OT2 and TAP programs[&o]. I've purchased some new arrows and wonder if someone could do a quick spine check for me. Setup: '07 Bowtech Equalizer, 50lbs, 26" draw. Arrows: Easton Lightspeed 500's, cut to 25", 3 4" feathers, 100grain tips. Thanks in advance.:)

I ran it, but it showed way too stiff. I had to add 125gr tip and cut to 28" to get it to match 50lbs.. Or raise the wieght up to 64lb.

It recommended the Easton Epic 600 for your bow. It just wanted a .6" spine.

It says your arrow is very stiff. It calls for a spine of .5965. Looks like you need to add alot of weight to your shaft, up your draw weight some or shoot a longer shaft.

Then again, if you can tune them to shoot broadheads with field points, I wouldn't worry about it.

Edit yea same thing Bigcountry got...around a .600 spine with everythying else being the same.

Thanks bigcountry. You didn't happen to use OT2, did you? Reason I ask is OT2 gives some pretty wacked numbers for the Bowtech Equalizer. It's about 40fps off[&:]

295grain arrow @ 258fps
265grain arrow @ 272fps
360grain arrow @ 232fps

Be careful how you calibrate with ot2,you need to change poundage to adjust the fps get halfway accurate.

Archers Advantage is showing you way stiff also.It also shows you shooting EXACTLY the speeds you posted with those arrow weights.Anywhere between a .570 spine to a .600 spine should work well for you. That is assuming you are using a loop.

Tfox, I find, you just have to change the IBO numbers. Not the poundage.

But if I throw in the Gold tip ultralights like I assume your 295gr number is, I only get 228fps. So maybe it is off for your bow.

You can change the ibo numbers but that doesn't change the spine.I discussed this via email and was told personally that the program does NOT use the ibo speed to determine spine,it uses the cam style.[:'(]Just try it,change the ibo speed in the equipment form and you will see NO CHANGE in the spine form.

I have gone back to AA and couldn't be happier,1000 times easier to use and more accurate imo.

OT2 has some nice features and if you use AA to calibrate the cam style, then it is pretty good.[8D]

The factory setting are usually correct with OT2 but not always, that is when it becomes a pain in the you know what.

OT2 is way off for my bow.I should of mentioned that in the first place. Sorry[&o]. It might be an issue where the program simply does not know what to do with an IBO that's determined @60lbs 27.5" draw. It's the only thing I can think of. Pinwheel Software has been notified of the issue.
