bow string break in period????

I bought a PSE Nova had it set to 29 1/2" draw at 60#. Sighted it in at 20,30,40,and 50 yards for my pins. I have shot about 125 arrows through it. I am noticing that I am now shooting about 12" lower to hit the middle of the target. Someone told me that my bow string would strecth. Is this true?? If so when will it stop??
P.S. I am positive my sites did not get moved, and am having no problems left or right.

Jag Dog,
I may have this backwards, string vs. cable, but as your cable stretches ( I think), your draw weight will go down. This may be the cause of your low shots.

Trebark and others, maybe I did not describe this well enough.
I am shooting 12" lower to hit my target, which means if I shot for the middle of the target the arrow would go 12" higher. Thanks...

100 - 125 shots is what I suggest for a break in period. Sounds like you could have a stretch problem, but that' s off a lot at 20 yards. Check your nock point in relation to you arrow rest.

Seems like its off alot to me also for just string stretch. I would check my nock ing point and my rest to see if either have moved.

it sounds as if your nock point is low causing you to shoot high this would also cause a nock low tear through paper. this is common with string stretch.

RE: bow string break in period????

I just put a bow square on it. According to what I read, because I use a release, the nock should be 1/4" above the rest, then I set my arrow on top of that. When I bought it I had the shop put on a loop. I have tried to move this loop, but it does not move.
After checking it with the square, I found that the center of my loop is 1/4" lower then the rest. But it has been that way from day one. Help :(

RE: bow string break in period????

You might try turning the loop up the serving, the serving acts as threads in this case. What' s probably happened is the string has stretched, particularly if this is a one cam with the long string. On these the string stretches it' s entire length and since most of the length is above the nocking point it moves down.
Now for more, it sounds like you' re nocking the arrow between the knots of your loop. If this is the case the nock set should be above the loop. Either that or you' re positioning the arrow wrong, it should go below the nock set. Kinda hard to answer this without seeing the set up so hope this helps.
