How big is your peep?
 

Hey all,
I was wondering what size peep you use because I am using a Meta Peep Large hunter and I am having a heck of a time focusig on a target. I think I should move to a smaller peep to get better focus.

Depends on the size of your sight. That should dictate the size. For my Extreme sight, I had to use a 3/16". But with my copper johns, I think I used a 5/16". The outer ring should be fitting the peep when looking thru, and you should be only focusing on the pins. If not, you might want to work on head position and anchor points.

I'm using a Meta peep 5/16".:DIt works greatwith my 2" sight housing!:)

I drill mine out to the point the peep almost collapse....Not sure what size that is but it is really big...This is on my hunting set-up....I use a small one on my tourny rig....I have had a couple times while hunting I could see the deer and my pins but not all at the same time, so I started drilling them out after that....has worked well..

I use the String Splitter Mini. It is REALLY nice. I can't imagine using the bigger versions of the String Splitter because they would be so big. You can see everything through it. No blurring of things that shouldn't, no loss in accuracy, and extremely good low light shooting ability.

3/16" meta peep fortarget and I use 7/32" predator view peep for hunting.

I just swtched to a smaller peep the 3/16" meta because I felt like it has helped me focus a little more I think time will tell and lots of practice.

I would agree with bigcountry. I use the 5/16" meta peep. One thing I notice is that you said focusing on a target. As in rifle shooting you focus on the front sight apeture. So I would think with the bow shooting, the rear sight should be big enough to let light in and still encompass the housing of your front sight. It should look like two circles inside each other. My focus is on the pin and the target is clear but not at the expense of the pin, some days the target is fuzzy, just depends on how much time i've spent on the computer. I think the technical term is hyperacuity. And keep you other eye open for depth perception.

[8D]I think that's kind of personal , maybe some drinks and a movie first before you get my size of peep:)

I use the 3/16" Meta peep. It works great for me!

Peep size is a personal thing and usually takes a little experimenting. It depends on anchor, your eyes, etc.

I shot a small peep cause i like them more. I cant use large peeps or large pins on my sights.

5/16 meta for me , the older you get , you will want a bigger peepsite
