how to sharpen broadheads and knives?
Hello,
About a year ago I saw a post on how to sharpen broadheads. Not sure if anyone remembers that but if they could post it that would be perfect. If not, I am looking for a way to sharpen broadheads and hunting knives. If you know of any good techniques or products to use let me know. Thanks, |

I would also be very interested in any advice you guys would have on this subject. Although i can put a good enough edge on a knife i would like to get better at it. at this point i don't even bother with broadheads because i know i can't get them as sharp as the new ones out of the package

For standard 2 bladed head like mangnus, or any of the cut on contact type like that, KME makes a sharpening system that is all but foolproof. It will also do replacement blades back to scary sharp. Very easy to use.

Depending on how dull the knife or broad head I start with one of these.

Then progress to a fine Arkansas stone then strop with a piece of leather.
If the knife or head is not that dull I go straight to the Arkansas stone then leather. |

I use and really like the Spyderco Triangle sharpener. This is the only system I have ever used that I can get knives TRUELY shaving sharp. I mean hair popping sharp. I have used other systems, and this one works best for me. I use it for my Magnus Stingers as well. A few strokes after practice, and the heads are good to go. Plus, you can do hooks, serrated blades, etc.
