Default Arrow building question.

Can I use five minute epoxy to re-glue my inserts. I ordered my new arrows off of the internet and they glued the inserts into the uncut shaft so now my arrows are to long. So I'm wondering after I cut them to my length can I just use 5 minute epoxy to glue in the inserts. It seems to me that most glues that are advertised to be used to glue in inserts are just epoxy any way.

Yes you can use 5 min epoxy but it is brittle and the inserts will probably pull out over time.

Th 24 hour epoxy would be better than the 5 minute. If you know a gunsmith in your area, there is a stock repair product called Brownell's Accra Weld that appears to be the same stuff Easton includes with their arrow shafts.

You could also cut the arrow on the nock end.

I use hot glue sticks, heat up the insert just enough to melt the glue and then stuff it in there and the insert doesn't come out. And if I need to take it out I heat up the FP and out comes the insert and it doesn't damage the arrow if you don't heat it too much.

I've always wondered if the hot melt glue may have an effect on the bonding of carbon and fiber process! Seems like it could have adverse effects, think I will try the 24 hour epoxy when I attempt it.
