LARGE fieldtip group
Outdoor temps got to almost 40 so I went out to start shooting my new bow.
I just got the 2003 RazorTec and had only shot it a couple times to see how it felt and what its speed was. With the warmer weather I got to set up on a 30 yard target and started shooting. My groups were awfull. They would not stay inside a killzone and were scattered around the target face. I set up my stand and shot through paper to see what was happening and I was getting a tear about 1/2 in. high and about 1/4 in right. This is my setup --- Bow set at 57 lbs. with string loop and peep and a QT 1000 rest, draw length 28 in. Arrows---Beman ICS hunter 500' s at 27 in. with 4in. ofset feathers and 100 grain field tips. My old bow (Hoyt Raptor Redline) would group good enough where I could hit golf balls or tennis balls at thirty yards without much problem. Would field tip groups be this bad with the bow not shooting bullet holes? Any ideas? Greg |
RE: LARGE fieldtip group
This probably want give you much comfort, but I just bought a new Hoyt also. The couple days I had this bow I was feeling sick about my groups and the way it was shooting. However, about day 3 I starting getting better and at about day 5 and was stroking the bullseye as always. I guess you have to get used the feel of the new bow. I would stick with it a little longer.

RE: LARGE fieldtip group
Your form could be a little rusty from not shooting added to the fact a new bow that you have to get used too.
Keep shooting it like Belle said things will come together when you become one with the bow;):D |
