Default cock feather?

I just bought my first bow a couple of weeks ago, and I was wondering which way the cock feather should point when you are using a WB. I was thinking down, but a friend of mine told me that it should be up.

It needs to be pointed up. The black bristles in the center/bottom of the biscuit are stiffer to support the arrow. You don't want your vane bouncing off of those.

Up is right, and if after a few rounds of shooting, your vanes show wear, tears, ripples, try a stiffer shorter vane, like a blazer, I did and the wear went away, also they(WB) have a break in period to soften up. good luck...
