Help shooting proper backtension.

I bought a pure backtension release the other day and I need some help shooting it properly! I'm trying to get that Surprise release but it doesn't seem to work. I need help! I would need someone to explain exactly what I'm supposed to be doing with this release to use proper back tension.

RE: Help shooting proper backtension.

In theory to shoot with back tension you anchor, acquire the target, settle the pin down and begin executing back tension by contraction of your back muscles (pinching your shoulder bladed together). What kind ofa BT release are you shooting? If you are getting the release to fire on command by rotating your hand, that would eliminate the "surpirse". Have you tried using a string cut to your draw lenght and practicing back tension with that?

That's the best way to practice, you'll soon see it's not as hard as most peoplethink. I used to hunt with backtension.
