Arrow Question

New guy here again with an arrow question. Will an arrow loose it's spine after a while? If so, how long does it take for it to loose it or should I say how many times can you shoot an arrow before it does? Maybe this is a dumb question but I am new to archery and dont know all the ins and outs just yet. Thanks in advance for all your help.

RE: Arrow Question

You're talking literally hundreds, if not thousands, of shots before a quality arrow like your Gold Tip XT Hunters will have anything close to a significant change. They're pretty tough little carbon fiber tubes! Chances are you'll lose or destroy one before that happens.

RE: Arrow Question

Carbon can, and will, have the spine shot out of them. When? That depends on MANY things. Arrow quality, how often they're shot, how often they're smacked together....Among other things.

If you've noticed an unexplainable decrease in accuracy, time for new arrows.

Aluminum? I don't think you can shoot the spine out of them, but they do of course, bend and break.

RE: Arrow Question

If you can, replace your dozen arrows each year. It is a pretty good rule of thumb.

Losing spine depends on how much you shoot and how much your arrows get banged up.

With carbons, remember to flex them after each shot or two.
