another draw length question
First, about myself. I amgetting back into this after about 10 yrs off and currently (temporarily) still shooting my old bow. I've been looking over all comments to learn what is new and thanks to some good information here, I've realized my draw length is too long. I never thought about it back then, but it bothers me everyday now. (It only adjusts down to 30 in) Because of this, I've been paying close attention to all comments about usinga shorter release aid or small string loop, fingers only, etc.
I'm just trying to figure out if all of this would really make a difference. I mean, no matter what you use to pull with, the string still touches your face at the same spot. Even, hypothetically, if you had a trigger in front of the string, your pull would be shorter, but the draw length would still be too long because the string is touching your face to far back. Anyway, just trying to clear things up and learn as much as possible. Thanks for all of the great information so far. |
RE: another draw length question
A module adjustable bow is really nice getting settled in to a draw length that is right. Having a bow with too long of a draw is one of the most common mistakes I see dealing with shooters on a continual basis. Measure your wing span finger tip to finger tip and divide by 2.5 It may not be exact but it is a very good place to start.
