Ispent some time to get my bow to shoot blazers(it wasnt a huge undertaking but still had to work out some clearance issues).when I was done I was kind of disapointed they were alot louder!
It seems kind of funny to me that we spend alot of time trying to make our bows as quiet as we can,then turn around and put an arrow in it that isnt queit.
I dont have a cronograph so I dont really know what the speed difference is but i dont think it is worth it.
what do you guys think? am I crazy?:eek:

For me its not about the speed necessarily with the blazers. Rather it is about arrow stabilization. I think they do a fantastic job at stabilizing an arrow and they are durable.

I just went from 4" dura vanes to 2" blazers I picked up 6 fps.

I don't think noise coming from an arrow is as big an issue as bow noise. I shoot feathers and I doubt there is anything that makes much more noise in flight than a feather. I've shot them out of bows at less than 200fps and it was never an issue. Blazers work fine, but I am a feathers guy all the way!!

Never noticed that. Ive found the opposite, they are just as quiet or more than four inch vanes, and a hell of a lot quieter than quick spins. I love blazers and will nevery shoot a compound with anything but blazers.;)

When I use blazers I have found them to be quiet also. I was wondering, do you fletch them with just an offset or do you use a helical clamp and offset that also? I fletch my blazers with the straight clamp at an offset and, as I said, they are very quiet.

I twist them to the max. Just as much as I put on my 4 and 5 inch feathers for trad gear.

I put an off set on them -- too much maybe.I,ll try some with less offset

You may also want to double chack and make sure each vane is glued to the shaft for its whole length. If part of a vane came loose it would make a lot of noise.
