arrow rest problems on bowtech general
[hr] I just picked up a new bowtech [ul][*]general set at 70lbs[*]speed mod 27inch draw[*]easton full metal jacket arrows[*]rip cord drop away rest [/ul] I went to pick it up last weekend and could not get the rest towork properly had following problems rest would not drop all the times and when i would draw the bow at full the rest would release about 1/2 inch the guy at local bow shop couldn't even get it right also tried another ripcord rest to make sure it wasn't defectedhe suggested trying another type rest and said maybe the cams on the bowtech general were to sensitive? plz help |
RE: arrow rest problems on bowtech general
The cams too sensitive to make the rest work?
Never heard that one? That rest doesn't have anything to do with the cams on any bow.......the cord is pulled downward the same on every bow to a set point that trips the internal release, when fired the down cable travels back up allowing the rest to drop. It should not perform any different on this bow VS every other compound bow on the market? I had one myself and personally didn't like it but I know plenty of guys who do and it seems to work just fine for them. I think "Twildasin" might have a Ripcord on his new General? |

limbdriver...
can't go wrong, love mine |
RE: arrow rest problems on bowtech general
I have the ripcord on my General, we have different draw lengths but that shouldnt matter. Its all about where the string from the rest is tied to the cable, mine releases perfect everytime, there should be a little slack in the rest string and when you draw it should pull tight, take it somewhere else and have them play with it some, there shouldnt be a prob. with it

RE: arrow rest problems on bowtech general
Matt you are correct. I do have a Ripcord rest on my General and no problems with it at all! SOunds to me as though someone at the shop does not know what they are dealing with!

RE: arrow rest problems on bowtech general
While I prefer the Limb Driver and think it is the best dropaway on the market there is no reason why your Ripcord shouldn't work with the General if setup properly. Like Matt said the cams on a Bow have nothing to do with the way this rest works.
