FOC Question
I am wanting to try a higher FOC. Ifound someother arrows thatI am thinking abouttrying. According to the charts, these arrows should weight exactly 25 grains less than the arrows that I am now shooting and be of correct spine . So instead of shooting 100 grain tips I was going to try 125 grain for higher FOC and still be at my same arrow weight.
The question is, seeing that my total arrow weight should be the same, thus shoot the same speed, will the heavier FOC tend to drop more due to the weight being forward? If so, approximately how much? I don't really want to waste money on arrows that I may not be happy with and I would like to remainat my same arrow weight. Ed |
RE: FOC Question
There will not be a noticable difference in drop to really be concerned about at normal hunting distances and frankly even at 50 or 60 yds it's not that much of an issue. I shoot 125 gr tips and have never even thought of going to 100 gr tips.

RE: FOC Question
Dan, I am hoping so. I have seen a few posts about the heavier FOC and the concept sounds good to me. I know this is a highly debated subject so I want to try it for myself to see.

RE: FOC Question
Going with a 125 head is more than likely not going to be that much more noticable, the FOC will be slightly higher but untill you hit the 19% mark you will probably not notice the benifits.
My 3d arrows have a 21% FOC and proved their worth in a shoot last week end specially in the strong cross wind. My hunting arrows have a FOC of 24.8% But by going higher you are at least heading in the right direction;) If you want to know what your FOC will be send me your bow details make, model, draw weight and draw lenght plus the arrow specs and I will run them through the program. |

RE: FOC Question
I've never noticed a difference. I have 2 arrows right now and one is 20 grns lighter in the butt and they smack each other.
Make some up and see for yourself.A lot of variables that could show, with your set up it does matter. |
