Drop away adjustment
I have a Alpine Whisperflite Drop Away rest that is making contact with my Blazers. It was originally set up for regular 4" vanes. I realize it's not dropping quick enough to get out of the way. Do I lengthen the cord or shorten it up ? There is also adjustment for it to lift higher. Might that need adjusted too ? This is a pic of the contact I'm getting.

RE: Drop away adjustment
I would have to guess lengthen it if you were going to do anything.
I don't have any idea, but I am having the exact same problem with a nap quiktune 2000. I just bought a bowtech hostage on this site, so i'll see if I like it any better. I would saya longer cord means the rest doesn't rise until later in the draw cycle which means it would fall sooner when shot... I think. |
RE: Drop away adjustment
I also would subscribe to the longer string. I have the one on my QAD Ultra attached to the down buss cable about 5" below the arrow's path. It doesn't fully raise the rest until the very end of the draw cycle. Do you have your drop away adjusted so it is just past vertical when fully engaged? Is there anything on the shelf that might otherwise prevent the fork from going down all the way when released?

RE: Drop away adjustment
I am not famaliar with how the Whisper flite is set up to work but is there any way to increase the spring tension?

RE: Drop away adjustment
sngehl01, that's what I had read in a few places, but was also told it should be shortened ?????
Roskoe, the rest is at about 11:00 when fully lifted. The cord is attached to the cable slide. There is nothing stopping the rest from going down fully to the shelf. Just the "felty" piece of stuff the keep it from smacking. Bigbulls, haven't checked out the spring part. Thanks for the replies guys ! |
RE: Drop away adjustment
on my alpine whisperflite, I needed to grind down the upturned "arrow holder" forks on it to get clearance. After I did that, I just went to feathers anyways. I took off about 1/2 of them, and still get good arrow retainability.
