Default feathers/blazers/vanes

I loved blazers, but they won't clear my bow, or more precisely, my rest. I've turned them all kinds of ways, just ain't happening.

I'm going back to 4" vanes, but what about 3 or 2" vanes or feathers?

I don't want anything longer than 4", I mostly do 3d.

What would everyone suggest (don't wanna use quickspins either).

Thanks.

How is it that Blazers won't clear your rest, but yet 4" vanes will? What sort of rest are you using?

Do you know about rayzr feathers?

blazer vanes are taller than 4" vanes, the tips of the fletchings make contact with my rest.

bruce, I have been looking for those around here and can't find them. Do you like them? What do I need to order to fletch them straight (well, with a very slight offset). Also, do you use glue or fletchtape?

thanks.

I have not used rayzr's yet, but I'll probably get some fairly soon to look at. They only come in right wing but you may be able to use a straight clamp and offset them a little. A right helical clamp would be better, I am thinking. I use fletch tape for feathers.

You can go to the link I posted and buy them there.

does the fletch tape work pretty good?

If I can find out if I can fletch them straight I'll buy some. Thanks for showing me that link.

What type of rest are you using? What type of bow do you have it on?

The fletch tape works as well, or better IMO, than glue for feathers.

Bow : Parker Ultra Lite 31
Rest : Nap Quiktune 2000 (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&a mp;langId=-1&partNumber=39594&hvarTarget=search&c mCat=SearchResults) still using it, worked good for the last couple years, still works good w/ vanes and not blazers.

That rest will work with Blazers. I have seen it before many, manytimes.

Something in your setup is not set up properly.
