Default Back tension release technique

After popping myself in the face and adjusting the sensitivity, I've been able to shoot my Carter Colby 2 release really nicely. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a comfortable way to hold the release when I'm at full draw. I tried twisting my wrist to hold my palm out, but when I do that, I have a hard time seeing through the peep.

I tried shooting with my palm down, but the thumb pin scratches my face.

I also figured out that I don't need to hold my hand as far back as with my Scotts Mongoose.

Can anyone provide my with any tips?

I can't help you with the back tension thing, I don't shoot one. I am thinking of getting one this comming week though. If you don't get any answeres here, try this site archerytalk.com . Lots of target shooters there, most use backtension releases. You could also look at the book Idiot Proof Archery, it goes pretty in depth about it. I just skimmed over that part though since I use a trigger, but I will be re-reading it.

Good luck,
Paul

True Fire's answer to the Back Tension Release is a Relax to fire method with the X-Caliper. The neat thing about this release is that when adjusted properly all I need to do is think about release and it goes off. I'm well satisfied.

Though... of course the whole point of a BT release is that you aren't suppose to think about the release - No joke.
