Bow speed??
 

Does anyone know what difference in velocity 10 pounds of draw weight willl add? If you had the same bow, same draw length, same arrows, but one was 60 lbs and the other was 70 what would be the average gain????? Thanks for any replies

If I remember correctly it's 1.75 fps per #.

wen I bought my marquis the birth certificate said 310 @ 60# wen my dad got his marquis it said 311 70# I know It does not make much sense but those are the readings[&:]

Nic, That's an IBO speed which involves a different weight arrow. The 70# bow would be shooting a 350 grain arrow where the 60# model would shoot a 300 grain arrow. It will vary from bow type to bow type but I have found you gain 2 to 2.5 fps for every pound you go up in draw weight;)

On a bow I recently checked with a digital bow scale and a chronograph, it was 19 fps for ten lbs. of draw weight increase.

Roskoe, that would be 1.9 fps per pound. That's pretty close to what I have found also. Most will fallaround that 2 to 2.5 range;)
