Question about fletching?

Hey guys. I just found your sight recently and I think it is great. I have just begun trying to fletch my own arrows using a Graylingwith a right helical clamp andBlazer vanes. Do I need to offset the clamp using the helical, or isit just the preference of the person. Also, I am having a little trouble getting good contact with the vane and the arrow along one of the sides sometimes, do I need to make a few more adjustments? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Question about fletching?

Ok, that is the exact jig and clamp, and fletching, I use. You need to loosen the thumb screw under the magnet and adjust the angle until the entire base of the vane makes contact w/ the arrow. Tighten, and you're ready to go.

Spot on. As long as the entire base of the vane will make contact for your chosen arrow, your golden.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Mobow, do offset the clamp when you use the helical?
