RE: patriot single cam or pro38

I have a PRO38 daul cam 2001 model and I have to say for me it holds and feels much better in my hand than my Patriot did. I don't know if this helps any because the bows are not 03 models.

If the bow is 98% for 3D then by all means order the P-38. The Patriot is a great shooting stable bow, but the P38 will be more likely to pull you through on a 3D match... where ultimate stability is key.

RE: patriot single cam or pro38

I have a Pro38 Single Cam and a Patriot.

Get the 38 if it's mostly 3d. It's more accurate (IMHO) and faster than the Pat. Also - if you're shooting bowhunter class you can't have anything on the back of the riser so the 38 is a better fit.

I do like my Patriot but if I could afford it I would buy a new 38 & sell the Patriot - only because of the restrictions in NFAA classes and my reluctance to move to the open class.

Can not comment on the pro 38, but i did just buy a new sc pat. Its accurate, quiet, forgiving and fast. I like the parallel limb design, even on those other bows. I have crappy sights a nap 1000 rest, which is'nt to bad. It's a 29 inch draw which i shoot a 28. But i coul'nt help it, i had to buy it now. I even live 150 miles from the factory and i still have to wait for my pro shop to get a module for it. When ever that will be. But it still shoots good, and will be better with good sights and some kind of fall away. Either way, i wish you luck. fishon.......

bustedwin, you might want to look at the P40. It has more brace height 7 3/4", as opposed to 7 3/8". The mass weight is very close. Either one will make a fine 3D & hunting bow.

Both Matt/PA and myself posted reviews of the Pro38 approximately a year or so ago. You might still be able to find them by using the drop down menu which allows you to see threads from "30 days ago...60 days ago, etc...)
