Razortec vs. Cybertec
I want a new bow and have narrowed my choices down to these two. I haven't shot in several years and when I did I shot with fingers and a 42 inch ATA bow, but now I want to get back into it and want to shoot with a release. Will the shorter brace height of the Cybertec really make that much of a difference in how the bow shoots and it's tuneability and make it much harder to shoot accurately? My draw lenght is 30.5 inches. I also would like to shoot at about 65 lbs. and want to know would it be better to get a 70 lbs. bow and shoot 65 lbs. or try ordering one with really heavy 60 lbs. limbs that will probably top out close to 65 lbs.. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Also I'd like opinions, pros and cons of Hoyts strings. I've heard lots of negative things about Mathews strings but have heard nothing about Hoyt's. Thanks.

RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
Both of these bows are nice and the accuracy is about the same. The cybertec is longer ata than the razortec which should not make too much of a difference if you are shooting taget. for hunting, the razortec is more maneuverable and probably more forgiving due to its 7 inch brace. I have the razortec. I have heard that either one shoots great and I love mine. You would be wise to buy the 60 to 70 lb bow if you are shooting 65 lbs.

RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
weli have a cybertech ( 2002 ) modle w/ the XT2000 limbs. it is 60-70lbs. had the bow cranked up all the way except i could of got two or three more turns in. and it was at 73lbs.
if i could do it over again i would of got the 50-60lbs and crank her up all the way. should get close to what you are looking for. |
RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
<font face='Georgia'>Well, I have a 31 inch draw length and shoot at a 65 lb draw weight with a 70 lb peak draw weight bow and I can honestly say that I am not dissapointed with the Razortec. But, I do suggest you read JeffB's report on the Cybertec before making your decision. Maybe I should move my Razortec report back to this forum briefly for comparison's sake. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle></font id='Georgia'>

RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
PABowhunter, I read the report on the Cybertec and your report on the Razortec and realize that they are both high quality bows. These reports helped me narrow my decision down to these two. I guess what I'm really asking is the shorter brace height, the difference of 5/8 inch, worth the extra speed 5fps.. I've heard that shorter brace height bows are harder to tune and shoot. I live in Texas so theres no worry about string clothing contact and want to know if it's worth the trade off. Thanks
Opinions on Hoyt strings? |
RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
i just come back from purchacing a cybertec.while at the shop i shot both the razortec and cybertec.thou both were equally quiet and the difference in speed is a mute point,i chose the cybertec for the simple reason that i had less control of it when i was aiming.the razor was quick to move and just felt too small for my liking.it seemed like it was easier to cant and twist.so i opted for the cyber.

RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
Jeff,
Well, the next time, email me and I will take some pics of the Cybertec and email them to ya...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> wolf, The difficult part about comparing the brace height on these two bows is the fact that they both hover around that "magical 7 inch mark" that everyone quotes as being the bottom level of forgiveness for any given bow. Other factors, not the least of which being draw length, need to be taken into consideration before making specific recommendations of one bow over another. For example, if your draw length is under the 29 inch average then I would say that the shorter than average brace height on the Cybertec is probably going to have less of an impact on your accuracy because the powerstroke is significantly shorter. However, the possiblity of the string hitting your bow arm is still there regardless of draw length...unless you bend your elbow enough while shooting to compensate for this without affecting your overall form to a significant degree. Do you see what I mean? Whether or not the slightly shorter brace height is going to be more difficult for you to shoot is a determination that only you can make...by actually shooting both bows...side by side. If this is not a possibility then I must say that I don't think you can really go "too far wrong" with either decision. The brace on the Cybertec isn't ridiculously short where it will drastically impact your shooting...and on the other hand the axle to axle on the Razortec isn't ridiculously short either. Your call...sorry I couldn't help more but there are limits to what anyone can do on a message board. |
RE: Razortec vs. Cybertec
Did you check out an ultratec ? If I had your draw that would be my choice . I own a 03 cybertec it will be the bow I hunt with next season which is 6 months from now for me in south florida .It is very quiet and accurate in my hands . I finaly found a arrow rest that works with it .I went with a nap 4000 useing feathers , it still has slight contact but works well . I did change to a winners choice string to stop the peep rotation .
We all have different oppinions , if we did'nt the world would be a BORING place |
