Default Downside to the MZE??

So I've had it on a week or two now and a friend pointed this out. The swing arm sits behind the riser creating the effect of being an overdraw. The farther the head of the arrow is away from the grip the more magnified or farther off a slight cant or torque will be. As it is on my bow now, the arrow hook is on the arm farthest back (away from the riser).

Could I improve my patterns and reduce the effect of a slight cant or torque by moving it up(closest to the riser)? Anyone have any issues with this so far? My shooting improved dramatically just putting it on, but looking for the best possible performance.

I have a bow with perfect shot on it very similar to the MZE except it don,t use the cable guard. I have arm in the back hole or nearest the cables to use the shortest arrow possible
I installed a Timberland no peep on the bow. when set up, you will shoot the bow the same way ever time. beleive me it does work very well cost is about $35.oo
hope this helps

Whoever set it up should have put claw as close to the risor as posable without contact, to change it {if it neads to be changed} will probably only require a new nuckle . They are inexpensive .
If your accuracy improved it must be working for you .

We all have different oppinions , if we did'nt the world would be a BORING place

I beleive Kelly is talking about a conversation I had with him last week at our indoor league. I recently put one on my bow and was voicing my concerns about this rest being an overdraw and I may not have good enough form to shoot it well. I have had it on and off my bow a few times now and compared it to my quicktune. I think the problem is more me than the rest. But from a technical stand point, it is an overdraw rest, I don't care if it is a drop a way or not. After switching from one rest to the other I really can't tell a difference either way. I can shoot just as good, or just as bad with either one. I shot it tonight at the league and the arrows were flying like darts and hit where my pin was everytime. Unfortunately my pin was not always were it should have been when I pulled the trigger. I still managed a 559 though, keeping most of the arrows in the yellow. I had a few flyers that brought my score down. That scope is hard to get used to!

I think I had a few bad weeks (530's) and was looking for something to blame like my rest or arrows, instead of me. I can honestly say now though with my new 1714 X7's at 22 1/2 inches with the muzzy rest (I figured if I was going to use an overdraw I might as well put it to good use)my bow shoots great. Every miss I had was all me, I knew the second I released the arrow it was a bad shot.

Kelly if you want to see if we can change the set up on that rest I would be happy to check it out with you and see what we can do. Or I am sure Jeff could do something with it also. You might need to get a new rod for it if we move it forward though, because it will lengthen the linkage some I think. Get with me sometime this week if you want.

I really don't have anything bad to say about this rest, I just had some concerns about the overdraw issue. The rest works great and was not that hard to set up in my opinion. I use the whole rest by the way, with the overdraw guard on it. I think it looks cool that way! Unlike Kelly though, I did not find that it improved my shooting to any degree. The real test will be later this year when I run some fixed blades thru it.

I hope you are feeling better Kelly, we missed you tonight. Paul returned the stabilizer and we talked for while, nice guy. Hope to see you next week.

Paul

Yeah Paul! You got me thinkin'!LOL
Thanks for all the help guys; much obliged. I posted this on a Michigan forum and I think I've got it worked out, tell me if this makes sense... The overdraw as effect only comes into play if you use arrows shorter than your draw and USE it as an overdraw.

It won't matter where the rest hits the arrow, if the tip is near your grip, the cant or torque won't be magnified. The overdraw only CREATES the possibility of problems because you can pull a 28" draw and shoot a 25" arrow. THAT'S a situation where it would become detrimental if form was not dead on.

Jerry, Thanks for the Pic bro...nice setup!

Tech, thanks for the offer! Nice to know you guys stand behind the product...everywhere! I love this thing!

Paul, Thanks alot for lettin' me play with the Stab. I still suck though!I keep tryin' to "tweak" the draw length with the infinity cam to get it just right and the middle of the shoot is not the time to play if your tryin' to score points!LOL! I really don't care about the competition or ponts part yet( good thing..did you see my name at the VERY bottom of the sheet tonight?) I just want to get used to the new rig and shoot and meet some people and have fun and that's what I'm doin so I'm happy! Thanks again and I'll see you Thursday!
