Default Fiber Optic Colors

What are the best colors to have. On most of the better sights you can choose what colors you want so my question is. What colors do you want and do not want?

I want green and yellow. Simply because they stay brighter longer. The red one will die quickly.

Green and blue are the most visible in low light. Red is the worst.

It's intriguing the responses on this thread. I had a "discussion" with my son concerning this very topic when he set my Hoyt Vectrix XL for me the Friday of Thanksgiving week.

I told him I wish I could get rid of the yellow pins and go to green and red, or green and blue. He told me I needed to get rid of the green and blue and keep red and yellow.

I recanted for him what I saw in the woods when he was a youngster. We got into the woods about an hour before the sun came up. As the woods started changing from dark to light I noticed that the first pin I saw was the green pin. Then about 15 minutes later I saw the red pin and another 10 minutes or so later I saw the yellow pin.

We stayed in the woods all day. As the sun was going down that evening I observed just the opposite occuring. The first pin I lost was the yellow pin, then 10 minutes or so later the red pin and about 15 minutes later the green pin was no longer visible.

I have some new fibers on order and will be switching my sight to green, blue, green, blue, green. Actually, for hunting purposes, the only pin I think I will ever use is the top green pin.

With the Fitz Fibers I've noticed them to be (brightest to dimmest) yellow, green, orange, red. I haven't tried the blue since I read that it was made to be used with a lighted sight and we can't legally light our sights in AK.

I've yet to see a blue pin, or orange. I like the idea of a blue one however,

Between Green, Yellow and Red I've noticed this,

Green shows up first and leaves last.
Yellow is next,
Red is the worst.

I have only green and yellow pins on my hunting bow.

My target bow has a blue down pin in the scope and I have a LP Archery sight light for it.
