tell me some good news

I just bought a used martin pantera and a buddy of mine accidently dry fired it. I know, shouldnt have let him touch it, i told him about how that can destroy a bow, no need for criticism here, i have already beat myself up enough. Just curious, is it alright. No cracked limbs, just threw the string off and broke the slider. I havent had time to take it to my bow shop, just figured yall could tell me what kind of damage that can do to a bow. Thanks y'all

To be safe I'd pull the bow apart and inspect a few things. First thing is I'd run a cotton ball over the entire surface of the limbs to try and expose any really minor limb splinters. Then I'd pull the axles and roll them on a flat surface to make sure they aren't bent now. Then I'd check the bearings/bushings on the cam and idler wheel to make sure there is no damage there and that they still track true. I'd also look over the string/cable well and make sure there was no issue there. Your local pro shop should be able to do this for you for a small fee, unless your very technical and have a bow press that's probablyyour best bet.
