10yr old/dimaond edge pkg?
My son is 10, 4' 10" tall and weighs around 75 lbs.He has a couple of the smaller bows that are 15-20 DW range. I was wondering if anyone has a child around that age that can pull back a 30lb bow?
I want to buy him the diamond edge package by bowtech. B.P. has one that has everything on it (except arrows) ready to practice. I don't know wether to get the 20-29lb DW or the 30-40 DW.The smaller bow are easy for him to pullback,he maybe able to pull back 30? I wanted the 30-40lb bow so if he gets good enough and can pull the 40 by next year, may take him out(depending on accuracy and dedication level). Can only hunt with 40lbs or above! Thanks Crutch |

My daughter is 5" 100 lbs. she shoots the edge with 30-40 # limbs. Take him to a shop and have him draw both weights, if he can draw the 30-40 fine, if he can't go with the 29. the draw length adjustment built into the cams will allow him to grow with the bow and if he continues to shoot the edge you can purchase 30 -40 # limbs for it, (even 40-50's if you keep it long enough). It is a great bow for youth and small shooters.

RE: 10yr old/dimaond edge pkg?
Thanks Bill,
IfI decided to go with the 29, how much would the 30-40lbs limbs cost? I appreciate the help! I was trying to do this without him knowing....Christmas and all :) Maybe if I get the 30-40 lbs now and he can't pull it back I will order 29 lbs limbs. This way I will already have the 30-40 limbs when he is ready! I guess it depends on how much they cost. Thanks again! Crutch |

Edge is an awesome bow. My friend bought one for his son and I'd get one for my boy if founds became available.

Limbs should cost around $55.00 for the set and this allows him to grow with the bow (cheaper than a new one every year). Also not that it will mean much with him just starting out but my daughter bow set at 37# shoots gold tip 600's at 252 fps and is amazingly flat shooting out to 35 yards. It is a great bow for the money. Hope he enjoys it.

One thing to add to this, is that the 40-50 limbs can be backed down to 34 lbs, so it could save you from having to buy the 30-40 limbs.

Definetly a great bow! I picked one up for my 8 year old daughter over the summer. She is only pulling it at 20lb but I hope to get the new limbs for her in about 2 years. For any of you that have the next set of limbs save them and I will take them off your hands in the future!

This is also true of the 30-40# limbs, they can be safely turnd down to around 27#'s, guess I should of said this before. Gives him alot of options depending on what the young man can draw.
