What is a good release
I have a True Fire, is there a better one out their.I want to spend about 60$

RE: What is a good release
Of course there are better ones out there, but there are also much worse ones out there. I'm not sure which model you have, but truefire makes quality stuff. You're question is really to vague to answer specifically.

RE: What is a good release
Scott makes a good release, but I Love my Carter 2 Shot better than any wrist strap release I have shot:D

RE: What is a good release
I have been using a Scott release for the last two or three years now and love it. I would definitely look at those.

RE: What is a good release
If your Tru-Fire is working for you, I wouldn't replace it. Don't fix what ain't broke. :D

RE: What is a good release
the scott shark is a great releae i love mine, been shooting scotts for twenty years they r one of the best releases money can buy and would be a wise investment for any hunter I recomeend them.

RE: What is a good release
I like the Winn Free Flight and I love it, its the only one i've ever used, my brother shoots a tru-fire and he swears by it. I'd go with whats more comfortable to you.

RE: What is a good release
Onepiece of advice....take your bow with you and try a new release. It does'nt mean a whole lotif you can't try them out. Find one that has no trigger travel. Test as many as you can before you make a decision!
Good Luck |
RE: What is a good release
I have been using a Scott Mongoose for years no problems at all ever I have tried others but always go right back to my Scott. But get the buckle not the velcro

RE: What is a good release
I'll 2nd the Scott Mongoose w/buckle. I bought mine in 99 and it still works great. I have wore out a few straps, but I do shoot a few times a week.

RE: What is a good release
Iuse a True Fire Hurricane release, and love it! Actually, I have two of them.;)

RE: What is a good release
Bought a Scott Lil' goose this year, best move ever. Whatever you decide get a release with a buckle, velcro makes to much noise, and besides with a buckle you'll be more consistant with your draw length. I've found that velcro straps will vary with eachshot.

RE: What is a good release
Try a Tru-Ball... They are very well made and smooth as silk. I personally like their Tornado model, which I have used for years.
|
RE: What is a good release
I've had my most favorite release for nearly 56 years. Still works fine and I shoot better with it than with anything you can find on the shelf at the bow shop. Tough, quiet, self-repairing and I've never once lost it, or forgotten it and left it at home. Multi-tasking too. I'm using it to type this message, in fact.;)

RE: What is a good release
Yes, there is a better release out there than the one your using right now, but you should go to the dealer stands at shoots and tryout their releases and find which one is the most comfortable for you.
