Will a 60lb do the Job??

I'm looking at bows and found some used ones, but the best priced one is a 50-60lb. Would that do to kill big animals( Deer, and maybe an Elk one day) I know shot placement kills, not speed. Just wanted a 60-70 to bump it up past 60 though. Thanks David

I shoot a 58 pound bowtech 543 grain arrow at 250 FPS, will kill anything in North America.

I have two 61 lb. bows; and am going Bison hunting in January. Not the least bit concerned.

I'm currently shooting around 54 lbs (245 FPS) and I've never had any issues. This year I took my deer (a fairly large bodied whitetail buck) at 35 yards with a complete pass through...

Used to shoot closer to 70lb but some old sports injuries to my shoulders started acting up - so I backed it off and have never looked back.

It did a number on my elk this year , 62 pounds , 28 inch draw , 525 grain arrow , g5 strikers , he went 40 yards and fell in sight after a complete passthru

I'm on the same page as everyone else..... 60 pounds is more than enough bow.

Ive gone from 80, down to 70, down to 60, back to 70, and next year I'm going back down to 60. Dont need anything more.

"THANK YOU" all so much for the replys,I"m sold on it. May even save my shoulder so I can shoot longer too! Also never killed a deer and always heard that when you draw back on one the excitement makes it hard to pull back what you thought you could do with a breeze when not shooting at a deer! Thanks again,David

60Lbs bows are all I buy. I have never had a problem with penetration. If you can’t take down critters with it, it’s not the bows poundage that’s the problem.
