If you could build the perfect hunting bow
 

What would the specs be? Mine would be a solocam with 80% letoff. It would be 34" ATA with 8" brace height and a 44 degree limb angle with a full length riser like the 02 Patriot. It would have Winner's Choice string and cables and an IBO speed of 325 fps. What would yours be?

Apparently great minds think alike. You practically took the words right out of my mouth. I think I would even settle for a brace height less than 8”, nothing below 7”, to get that IBO around 330-335. But since we are wishing, I want the 8" brace and I want 335 IBO.

30-34" ata, 8" brace, long riser with VFT that is so popular now, diamond archery grip, no recoil or vibration or noise and an ibo fps that would still produce 75# of ke when shot at 28" draw and 50#. Dual cam with a smooth force draw curve and a hard wall.

And a nice purdy camo job... :)

The Parker UL 31. It's only 31&quot;, It's 80% let off, It shoots great, It's super lite, Place a Muzzy zero effect on it and you got one great hunting bow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I just got finished building my idea of a perfect hunting bow. Reflex/deflex longbow, 68&quot; nock to nock, bocote riser with black glass under bocote overlays on the back of the riser and limb tips, hickory cores under clear glass. Draws 63# @ 31&quot;, weighs just under 2 pounds and shoots a 580 grain 2315 around 190 fps. Probably do a few fps better than that when I restock my string making stuff with 450+ and replace that B-50 string I'm shooting now. Cost? $100 for materials and about 15 hours of my time.

My next one will be shedua, maybe bubinga, for the riser with face cut red elm cores, red glass under wenge overlays, and draw closer to 55 pounds. Extra perfect.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I am ignorant when it comes to traditional equipment. I do shoot a recurve fairly well and I enjoy shooting them though. The bow you built sounds awesome. It will hump and arrow out there too! Shooting a 2315 @ 190 is impressive. You shouldn't have any problems getting pass throughs!
