I am not really impresed AT ALL......I think Mathews is really just re-hashing the same old products. Adding string suppressors and dampners just don't cut it anymore.....DC patriot here I come!!!!

I like how they call the Black Max "the world's fastest bow" what a joke(5.5 inch brace height) that is the real joke!!!

I think the funniest thing is how in the last 2 production model years they have resorted to slamming the competition to promote their own products. I hate that kind of attitude, regardless of what kind of product it is.

Lat years Legacy ad had a bit, and this years ad talks about how the C.5 sucks, based on their findings from, get this: 1993!!!!!!!!

Guess what, Mathews' solocam system sucked really bad in 1993 too. Geez if we start comparing stuff assuming it is like it was 10 years ago, I guess it will suck...

That kind of advertising means two things thing...they are worried, and they have little respect for the intelligence of their customer base.

Most big name companies have a 5-6 year run of being on top anyway...HCA had it the first half of the 1990's,and companies like Pearson had it before that...then they decline, sometimes badly...this is normal. But the other big companies like PSE and Hoyt adapt and that's why they stay near the top consistently year after year.

Personally I'd rather see small improvements with things that work than big changes that have problems. Little changes=less problems.
Lets face it unless there's a new approach that we aren't aware of we might be pushing technology as far as performance along with shootability now.
I've been shooting for 40+ years and had fun with the R&D that I've done, but now it's time to shoot and enjoy things working as they're supposed to.

RE: NEW MATHEWS PICS!!!

One of the bows in my "stable" is a Mathews Q2XL. For me it is the sweetest shooting bow that I have ever owned. That being said I would have to say that I don't see anything earth shakingly new this year from Mathews. Additionally the negative ads are a total turn off. Big marketing mistake IMO to make a comparison that is 10 years old...as far as I was concerned 10 years ago their stuff was very ruff. I felt they hit a home run with their Z-Max and took off from there.

Pesonally, I think they hurt the looks of their bows by making the limb pockets a different color than the rest of the bow. I would say the playing field is gettng more level all the time.

I wouldn't want anyone to think I was bashing them. I do think they make a good product and will probably still want to own a C3 or the LX . But then again I would like a new Merlin, BowTech, Darton, Hoyt, PSE, etc. It is just that when a person blindly follows ANY company your setting yourself up for a let down.
