String Silencers

My string is too loud. I have leeches and puffs, but am not quite satisfied with the job they're doing. A string tamer won't fit on my bow (Fred Bear), so does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks

I have tried them all.. I use cat whiskers cut down to the size of a half dollar. Works better than all the expensive junk on the market. Sometimes a bow is just noisy and you can cut down some noise, but not all... Does an STS fit you your bow? That will help a lot.

Whats the best way to put cat whiskers on? I have rubber ones on right now, and I basically just knotted them around the string.

The best way to put them on is to serve them on then trim them to the size you want

Please forgive me, I'm an idiot of sorts that has another question. So if I serve them on, say with dental floss or fishing line, I'm just basically wrapping the line around the whiskers, and then tying it off?

thanks

If you dont have any serving material use dental floss do a 1/2 knot under then one above repeat till you have 6 or 8 then tie off and burn ends so the knott wont come undone.

I have always just used the old yarn puffs and have always liked them. When I had my last new string and cable put on my Mathews I went to cat whiskers and am not happy with them at all and have a new set of puffs ready to go back on.
