At least it's better and more mature than what you've called me before. Resorting to name calling is childish at best.[&:]
Your man man straight says that only us fast bow shooters are crying and bent out of shape and you go and prove him wrong. Thanks
Why would I want to learn something thatI already know? Anyone with a basic understanding of physics or that shoots undertands the concept. I choose to shoot whatI shoot and it doesn't make me any less educated than someone who chooses to shoot what they shoot.

Indians didn't sit around thinking about the FOC of their arrows. Studies where not done because most people have the common sense to realize that they needed to use heavy tips back then to get penetration with their slow arrows.

look how much everybody here thinks about their setup and we just do it for fun.
i hope this thread doesnt turn into another "Who said Physics isnt fun"

i can only guess but i think your wrong with your statement about the Natives....im sure they sat around and thought about their hunting setups all the time, you know why i can guess this with confidence? because they hunted for survival. their hunting methods were field tested for thousands ofyears....thats a lot of trial and error or trial and success...everytime they went out hunting it was do or die literally. i guarantee that they sat around and thought about their setups and techniques. they were notstupid.

My point was that they didn't write studies on it. If you look over time the tips actually got smaller and sharper, not bigger for higher FOC.Therefore, theytried to get te fastest set-ups they could get out of their equipment. Not the slowest and highest FOC. Maybe they were smarter than Ashby

I have never thought about it in this fashion and it makes an incredible amount of sense. They had to think about these things in order to pass them on to others (young hunters especially)and certainly when something went very well they had to share it amongst themselves as when something went badly too.

They weren't very ethical. No offense intended.
