Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
Just put on my Mach 5 on my commander. Seems to fit tighter than normal. Think it will brake in?

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
It does have some requiremnets listed. Don't know what kind of rod yours has.

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
umm, ok

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
what do you mean by "tight" bc??
i have one on my Reflex Highlander. it definently pulled my cables ALOT more than the stock plastic hoyt one...i cant tell if its wearing my cable(the one closest to the string:)) or if its just making the wax look different from the way it rubs..it dont look frayed or anything though... the actual slide is holding up...cables arent cutting into it or anything and i got over 500 shots with it...probably well over 500. doesnt "chatter" in the rain...which is why i wanted a teflon one...just didnt want an all white one... |
RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
Its tight on the rod. Cables are moving smoothly, and it moves my cables out of my way. Just seems doesn't move very freely on my rod.

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
thats kinda odd....i thought they were all the same diameter...
did notice on mine that my rod had some flakes of teflon for a while...i just whipe them off..looked and the teflon still looks good...maybe mine was tight and i didnt know it lol.. |

bigcountry,
Did it feel tight when you put it on before the cables were attached or are talking about it feels tight now that it's strung? The reason I ask is I put one on my Bowtech/Diamond and it slipped on the cable rod kinda tight but once the cables are attached is pulls the slide tight against the rod and only the teflon part (it's only on oneside of the slide) is now touching the rod. I noticed that I can push it forward and back on the rod easier with it strung than not. It seems to "free up" once pressure from the cables is applied. |
RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
I only put it on without cables so far. I assume you have to loosen up the cables by pressing (or for me I can do without a press). I will try it with the cables on tonight.

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
Guys is there any way to get it on without pressing the bow?
|
RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
Kind of hard to explain but I put thr risor on my feet while sitting and pulll the cables back until the guide clears the rod , hope it makes sence

RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
BC...i put it on without pressing it.
i thought it was impossible...but somehow i put the cables in the right slots and gave er all i had and got it on there....i really thought it was impossible for a while:) :D but i did it. the guy at the shop made it look easy when he installed my new string ;) |

Well, got it on tonight. Somebody on here was right. When the cables put pressure on it, it slides nice. I think I am going to like this. I better for how much it is.
I love the commander, but can't believe they put such a piece of crap slide on. |
RE: Alpine archery Mach 5 and commander
You could have removed the rod from the bow first, install the slide, reinstall the rod.

I love the commander, but can't believe they put such a piece of crap slide on. I kinda figured that was the problem that's why I asked. I thought the same thing....I took it out of the package slipped it onto the rod and thought "that seems tight, how the hell is it going to slide" But after the cables were installed it was like butter. Glad I could help! |
