Sights?

Hey guys,
I have a Mathews Solo-cam Ultralight (about a 1998 model).
Here's my setup.
26" draw
70#
27" arrows (graphite with 100 grain broadheads (fixed) )
About 270 fps ?
I have been hunting with a Savage Pendulum sight. Sighted in at 20yds on the ground makes me dead on at 5 to 30yds in my tree stand.
My problem is due to back problems I'm hunting more and more in a blind on the ground, so if a deer comes by at 25yds, I can't take the shot.
If I switched to regular pin sights how would this be?
10
20
30
40

Thanks for all info.

RE: Sights?

i start my top pin at 20 and shoot 10 yard increments out to 60. but you can get them in a variety of pin numbers. i have 5..

i started my top pin at 15 last year and found that 25 was too close for comfort and shot true to dang near 25yds. this year im shooting a heavier arrow at the same speed or slightly faster than last years and my 20yd pin gets me to about 25 still.

I'll agree. No need for a 10 yard pin anymore. There's only about 1" difference in impact between 10 and 20 yards. Another pin just clutters things up.

Just something I've read on other threads, but it can get pretty dark in a blind so you might want something what accepts a light.

I agree with BGfisher. Defenitely no need for a 10 yard pin. You could probably get away with having one pin set at 25 yards and ten yard pins after that. My first pin is set at 20 but I am not shooting as fast as you are.

RE: Sights?

Thanks for the info. I was able to take a doe last night off the ground with my single pin and it was true, but I had to wait until she got to the 21 yd marker. (A log I used a range finder on previously.)

I have a lot of back problems and tree stand hunting isn't going to be an option for me this year.

I've got some McPhearson sights (older) that have4 pins. I'm thinking (from your information) 20, 30, 40, and 50. But I won't change over until I know I can practice for at least a couple weeks without hunting.

Once again, thanks for the info.
