sight question
I want to get to where I can sight my bow in on a smaller target. For instance, I want to be able to shoot at those little dime-sized fluoresent orange stickers. The only problem is that my pins are too large at longer distances and I cover up smaller targets. At 40 yds they cover up about 4 inch diameter (guessing) circle. So is there a set of sights that is designed to be able to see a smaller (dime sized) target from farther distances. Maybe a crosshair type sight. Right now I just have flourescent pins. thanks!

RE: sight question
I would just buy a smaller sight pin. Or you could just buy a cross hair sight on EBAY, Cabelas, or Bass and Pro.:D

RE: sight question
are crosshair sites better in this regard. I've never used them.

RE: sight question
A lot of sight pins on hunting bows are size .029........but most of the good sight manufacturers also offer size .019. This will help help a lot but the problem you describe is difficult......lots of practice!
Good Luck! |
RE: sight question
Is there any reason why small pin size would not always be better? You could more accurately sight in your bow I would think.

RE: sight question
It mainly depends on your eyesight mufan. some people have really good eyesight and can get away with using the really small pins but others need a little larger pins because their eyesight isnt good enough to see the small pins.

RE: sight question
I prefer the .029 for hunting, strictly for the ease of seeing them in ALL conditions.I have great eyesight and still choose the larger pins.
I used the .019 for target and I would advise them or even the .010 for that game. |
RE: sight question
is it as simple as shooting with the 0.10 pins and then changing to the larger pins for hunting or do you have to resight the bow all over again?
