If your shooting a whisker biscuit then the cock feather needs to be up

(finally a question in the technical forum I can answer!):D

If you look at your WB, notice that there are alot of brown bristles, and a few black bristles at the bottom. Those black bristles are really stiff because they support your arrow. That's where you don't want your fletching striking when it passes through. To accomplish this, the cock feather should be up.

ok thanks guys but I know about the whisker biscuit deal, I was wondering how this applies to me fletching arrows as the fletcher has differnt plates for cock feather down and out? or do I not need to worry about this and just fletch

Actually, if you look at the tuning instructions on Carolina Archery's website, they recommend trying cock feather OUT first. Then if that doesn't work well, the second option is cock feather up.

If you're using tuneable nocks, it doesn't matter. Just twist your nocks to the orientation you want.

If your nocks are not glued on (fixed), you don't have to pay any attention to it when making your arrows.

I think your reading a little more into the instructions than needed.Sometimes the instructions mess you up worse than if they didin't have any. The quoted statement sums it all up for you.
