straightning vanes with a blow dryer

Just take the blow dryer and blow it on the vanes but not on the shaft of the arrow. Hold it on the same elevation as the arrow and blow it across the vane, 1 at a time until they straighten out..

Redneck, try laying the vane flat on the edge of a counter, then run the hair dryer back and forth over the vane.
Depending on how hot your hair dryer gets will depend on how long you need to keep passing over the vane.
A little practice and you will get the feel for doing it with no problem

I tries this few weeks back and couldn't get it to work. I think because my wife's hair dryer didn't get hot enough. When I went to the local shop, he straightened the vanes by passing tehm through the blue flame of a propane torch. You need to be careful though if you try this so you don't melt the vanes.

You can also dip the vanes in boiling water or hold them over some steam.

The boiling water works the best imo. You only have to dip them into the water for a second because they heat up instantly , then pull the arrow out and spin them between your hands and the vanes straighten right out.

did the boiling water for my vanes, worked great, my uncle did it to his aluminums with the same type of fletching and it curled them(dipped fast, not held in), but his carbons worked fine also.
