Ultra-Rest LD from QAD
Has anyone used this Ultra-Rest LD from QAD?
Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on it....... |
RE: Ultra-Rest LD from QAD
I tried the HD which is essentially the same. I had issues with it on my BowTech with it tweaking the down cable and effecting the tune of the bow. I don't think that's a problem of QAD's though, I think it's an '06 Binary Cam issue. Otherwise I think it was a great rest. The only thing I would like to see improved on it is a metal launcher instead of plastic. I just don't trust plastic parts in cold weather.

I have mine on my razortech, and it is functioning great. The only proble I am having with it is that it is interferring with the tec riser and does not have enough adjustability, to make tuning easier. This is why I am going to try different dropaway's like the MZE and Ripcord.

I shoot the HD model and absolutely love it. I have no problems with it at all and it's very quiet and smooth.
PROS: 1. Full containment. Just nock the arrow and lock the rest up into place and forget it. 2. Doesn't drop on slow let-down after drawing and no need to hold anything on the rest to do the slow let-down. 3. Drops and locks down when shooting, so no bounce back issues. 4. Doesn't hit my riser shelf when it drops. 5. Very quiet, even when locking it into place. CONS: 1. I wish the plastic pieces were metal, but it's easy to replace them and I got spare parts in my box when I bought it incase they ever did break. I don't mind the trade off for the performance it puts out. |
