weight of feathers?

Me, and my friends were discussing which was lighter the quickspins, blazers, or 4" feathers. I thought the feathers would prolly be a little lighter then the quickspins, but wasn't sure about the blazers. What does a 4" feather, and blazersweigh?

Feathers are the lightest. About 2-3 gr each. Using them is the easist way to increase the FOC on your arrows.

Blazers weigh about 6 - 7 grains each.

Feathers are lighter, even for 5 inchers and they offer the best resistance therefore more control. Even if fletched straight.

Next best thing in my eyes are blazers with a slight offset.

I have not tried quickspins though.

4" feathers are approx. 2-4 grains depending upon the type of feather used.

They do offer good resistance and control but they are noisy and collapse in the rain. I don't see much point in having fair weather equipment since I am not a fair weather hunter. Just my opinion.

I have shot feathers in every condition imaginable and they work fine. And unless you are making 50-60 yard shots I don't see where the extra noise matters really. I have also heard some pretty noise vanes.

I have shot feathers in the pouring rain many times, and they hit just the same - even at 40-50 yards. For the life of me, I can't figure out where it got started that feathers can't be shot well in the rain. In my experience, it simply isn't true. I also never make any effort to waterproof them. They make be matted down a bit, but the instant the shot goes off the water is left behind.

cool, thanks guys I figured feathers were lighter just wasn't sure. I use 4" feathers do they make any shorter than 4" like maybe a 3"? I've never seen any feathers that short.
