3-D Vanes?

Im looking to see what has worked for every ones 3-Ds this year. Im shooting a 27” FatBoy W/100gr tip. I’m trying to see how small of a vane I can use, with out loosing down range accuracy.
So if any one shoots any large Dia carbon shaft for 3-d help me out. They need to fly good out to 50 yards. So what works for you?

Be sure to check your governing body's regs... if you're shooting IBO shoots, the smallest measured vane allowed is 3.75". ASA doesn't have vane restrictions.

I use 2" Predator's and have seen guys using the mini Blazers and Dura Vane 3d vanes about 1.5".

Yeah, I've got Hunter Class on the brain right now... I think you're right.

I'm shooting bohning's 1.75" shield cut X-vanes for local events in both MBR and Open classes. At 316fps my pro 22's with an 80 grain glue in point fly like darts out to well past 50 yards.

I'm really partial to sheild cut vanes on most of my competition arrows.......I just think they look cool. :D

Here's a group at 40 yards and another pic of the shafts..........

Are those the pin nocks from GT? I've neverseen them before.

That is exactly what they are. Love them, I rarely destroy arrows since I started using them and as long as the shaft is straight that the pin is going into, the nock will spin true.

Sweet, would they be good for hunting as well, or should I go with a heavier more durable one?
