Whats the difference?

What is the difference between Helical and Offset? Curve of the vane? Angle of vane on shaft? Can someone please give me a good explanation of each? Thanks guys!

I'll try.......Ok, look at it this way......Offset is the vane running across the shaft, not parallel to it......Helical is the vane twisting around the shaft....

Both are meant to add spin to the arrow.

Just to add in a different way... offset is like taking a nail and laying it at an angle to the shaft. With helical the fletch follows a line like the threading on a screw, only not that exaggerated.

That pretty much covers it.

Helical is curved, offset is straight. Offset is a straight fletch, but the front of the fletch does not line up with the back. And like said helical is just that helical, it rotates around the shaft to some degree.

Helical is much more aggressive than offset and will spin the arrow harder and faster. The down side is it is hard to use with a prong type launcher, especially with skinny carbon arrows. With newer arrows and a helical a drop away or shoot through rest will normally be needed. Or use feathers.

I use a slight offset myself.

Thanks guys! I think I get it! I just have to remember to try not to explain it to somebody! LOL!! So in a sense Helical is kinda the same as offset, just much more aggressive, more degrees? Off set is 2, 4 or 8 degrees, and helical is like 15 degrees plus, maybe more?
