Help - limbs out of pockets - need advice
I have an older Hoyt that still shoots great.
Today I was practicing, and when at full draw I heard a strange sound like something tearing loose, then the thing literally flew apart. What appears to have happened is that the limbs somehow slid out of their pockets. Nothing, seems to have broken.
My question is, has anyone ever seen this happen?
And the biggest question is, can it be repaired?
Can a bowshop put it back together?

Man I sure hope so.
Although the might be able to "put it back together" make sure something is "fixed" or replaced so it doesn't happen again.
Were the limbs let down to much?
What # bow and how much weight was drawing when it came apart?

Yikes! Good thing you didn't get cracked in the top of the head at full draw. The only casue for this I've ever heard of is limb bolts being backed out too far and having them strip. Since you're talking about putting it back together I'm assuming that's not the case and that the limb didn't split at the bolt hole?

Yea, I'm glad I didn't get whacked by a limb or the string, but I did shatter an the arrow.
Like I said, nothing on the bow seems to be broken, except a string.
I called the bow shop and explained what it looked like.
He said he figured it was from a broken string and thought he could put it back together again.
I sure hope so. It is getting too close to season to try to figure out what to do about another bow, and besides, I can't afford to go buy a new one now anyway.
I've got several good bucks on my game cam and I would sure hate to miss bow season.

You were very lucky. I had a string break at full draw once and it wasn't pretty. I came out a bit bruised and bloodied. Since then, I change my string and cable every year. No way I want that to happen again.
