RE: New Arrow Help

I came up with.

Arrow weight 418gr's
FOC 14%
Estimated speed 265fps
6.4gr/lb

The above is also with 3x2" Blazers no wrap.

Aussie, is that to heavy, to slow, or to stiff or is that about good to go?

Personally I prefer the FOC to be higher but that arrow is going to get the job done and have a lot of hitting power just incase you hita shoulder;)

RE: New Arrow Help

Well the arrows are cut and fletched. I went ahead and used the 400's since I already had them. The chrono says that im shooting them at 255 FPS. I shot a 340 through it to just see what it would do and picked up 12 FPS. Cant complain though, it is stacking them in at 20 and 30yds. I had to back the bow down to 61lbs because of a bad shoulder but hopefully it will get better and I can crank the bow back down. She is also shooting a perfect bullet hole on the paper so im pleased. Now I just have to wack some deer with it.

RE: New Arrow Help

After playing with the OnTarget software for the past week, I'm convinced you cannot get a truely accurate recommendation unless you can manually put in the speed (obtained from an accurate crono) and then adjust the IBO speed until the calculation speed matches the manual speed. Without doing this, program recommendations were way off. It also helps to actually weigh the arrow, especially if you're doing something like added wraps or have fletching that you don't know the weight.

When you add the crono'd speed, be sure to set the program up with the arrow stats for the actual arrow you shot through the crono. Then adjust it for the arrow you'd like to shoot.

DMP, I highly doubt your bow is shooting 273 fps.

RE: New Arrow Help

Its not shooting 273 fps. On target told me that it would but after I set everything up and shot it through a chrono it is shooting 255 fps. Not as fast as I would like to see it but I can live with it for now.
