Storing a bow in the off season
 

I just checked on my bow, was gonna do some target shooting to stay in shape.
It's stored in my basement which is cool - and due to recent construction - quite damp. My bow is in a hard case with foam, but is it bad to be sitting in these damp conditions for long periods of time?

Try not storing it and shooting year round. Its good for you and good for the bow. When you get it out wax the string well.

Prolonged exposure to dampness will cause rust and corrosion on any exposed metal. I'd leave it out in the sun for a few hours to cook excess moisture out of the nooks and crannies as well as from the string and cables. Then I'd take the bow to the shop and have it taken apart and inspected, cleaned and lubed.

Once you've got that done, follow txjourneyman's advice.

Placing a few silica packets inside your bow case will really help take out any moisture that resides when you store your bow in it's case for the off season.

follow their advice and get out and practice. my season is only two months away this is no time to leave your bow in storage.

This has always worked for me. This way, I can walk into my shop, grab one and go shoot it. ;)
