string waxing
How often do i need to wax my string?
|
RE: string waxing
That depends on you. I wax my string and cables more often than most I guess. At least once a week. I'll wax 'em again before I have to go shoot in wet conditions. Same for dry and dusty conditions.
On the other hand, I know some guys who refuse to wax their strings, ever. Some of them have been known to soak their strings in acetone to get all the wax out of them. They are conviced that string wax adds too much weight to the string and slows down their arrow speed. I think they're being more than a little silly, but it's their business if they want to be forced to replace their strings and cables at least twice as often as I do. |
RE: string waxing
I shoot alotso I wax my strings avery coulpe of times I shoot. I run dental floss down the string to take the excess off of the string.

RE: string waxing
For me this depends on how often I shoot. When I am shooting more often at 3-D shoots and basic target practice I will rewax at least once a week. If I am storing my bow and not shooting often I will wax my string at least once a month due to difering weather conditions, such as humidity and warm to cold. Wish I shot more but work doesn't always permit it.

RE: string waxing
I wax mine after every time I come home fro mthe range. That's pretty normal for most of the guys I know. Just clean off the old stuff once in a while.

RE: string waxing
Strip the string with dental floss and then wax after every shooting session. That's what I do.
