Finally

Settled on my hunting arrows and broad head combo.

Beaman ICS Hunters 28", 4 Dura Vane Predators and the Muzzy Phantom 200gr for a total arrow weight of 455gr with a FOC of 24.8%

Have the arrows already to go just waiting for the Phantoms to arrive;)

I do have to turn the bow down 3lbs so the arrow spines correctly but even then it is still going to pack a lot of punch.:D

I thought I remember that you were shooting the AC superslims? Why did you change?

Just curious but what is the reason for the higher FOC?:)

I could not get the FOC high enough with the Super Slims and when I did get the FOC high the spine was too weak, nothing against them they are a great arrow.

Better flight and penetration;):):D

OK, enlighten me then Aussie.;)

I have always read and abided by the 10-12% FOC range. What exactly would be the difference between that and the almost 25% you have achieved?

Thanks

I think Dr Ashby can better explain it as he has done extensive tests you can read his reports here. But be warned you will need a lot of time to go through all the reports;)

No I was gonna do it at the shop but Jake's new bow came in so I was helping him set that up and getting his arrows right.

Besides that you'll only screw it up again[8D]:):D

It's so bright he has to wear a welders hood to keep from going blind. I don't know what contraption he is going to get next. These glasses were one of his latest addition. He thinksthey make him look smart.

:DWith that heavy of a setup....

How fast are you shooting and what is your drop in inches (or feet :D) between say 10yds and 50yds?

I know Russ, if he aims at it, he'll hit. I don't think he's too worried about drop, FPS, distance between 10 and 50 yards.... That's a rookie problem.

We've both been shooting longer than most people on this forum have been alive.:D

Bob is correct I really dont care about speed or arrow drop. If you know your equipment then speed is a mute point, if you rely on speed because you suck at judging yardage then practice your yardage judgment or get a range finder[8D];):D

But altho I have doubled my head weight and FOC the arrow is only 45 grs heavier than what I am currently using, it also adsorbs more energy from the bow and the flight is a lot better than with the 100gr head and 12% FOC.

Ever wonder why the trad guys use heavy arrows and heads even tho their bows are slow to begin with?
