A 29 inch 400 spine arrow is going to take between 55 and 60 pounds max draw weight , with 100 grain heads , you were way underspined .
Where in the world do you figure that for a dual soft cam'd bow? I know pinwheel software doesn't kick that out. Even Easton which usually leads people to a more stiff spine suggests anything under 67lbs, to use a .400 spine.

For a hard cam, it will, I agree.

I am just curious what charts everyone is using these days. Seems they vary greatly.

I have had pretty good luck with the spine chart on Easton's website - it not only allows you to figure in arrow length, draw weight, and tip weight; but also has a choice between a hard (single) cam and a medium cam. I would agree that you are close to having too soft of an arrow - and your arrows may have "softened" over the years as well. Did you back the limbs down and try it at lower poundage?

I've gotten kinda partial to the draw weight calculator on Carbon Express' website. I plug my numbers in, it spits out a calculated weight and I go check the chart. Then I read across to find out what spine deflection that goes with the shaft they recommend. After that, I've got a spine deflection number I can take to all other manufacturers' sites and compare to their charts.

Doing that, I've found out that they're pretty darn close to each other.
